About this Cellar
The dry grown vineyard has both young and old vines ,some over sixty years old, all carefully hand pruned and hand picked. The wines are made by Jim, a Roseworthy College oenology graduate, who crushes about 15 tonnes of grapes each vintage in a small well equipped winery. Red winemaking focuses on traditional winemaking techniques such as open fermentors ,basket pressing and oak barrel maturation.White winemaking is more high tech refridgerated fermentation in stainless steel tanks to retain the delicate fresh fruit aromas and flavours of Riesling.
The wines produced are dry flavoursome Riesling and a light fruity late picked blend of Riesling and Semillon. The reds are a rich robust Cabernet Sauvignon and distinctive Cabernet franc which has received high praise both locally and internationally
An old stone building set amongst the vines provides an idyllic cellar door to welcome visitors.
